My Story

I am a freshman at California State University - Northridge and I previously attended Vaughn International Studies Academy (V.IS.A) in the San Fernando Valley.  At V.I.S.A.  I was Associated Student Body (A.S.B.) President and Yearbook President. I was in both clubs throughout my four years and always loved to be involved and did that through holding officer positions.  Being President of two clubs was a very eye-opening experience that taught me skills such as organization, time management, responsibility, and public speaking skills. My major at CSUN is History, but I plan to change it to Liberal Studies because I plan to pursue teaching, specifically in elementary school.  I have always known I wanted to be a teacher because I love working with children and helping them learn. In my sophomore year of high school, I volunteered throughout my winter break at my school's elementary school. That is one of my favorite experiences because I was able to get a feel of what being a teacher would be like and working with the children was a joy. Some passions of mine are pop culture, music, teaching, art, baking, and shopping. Pop culture has always been a part of my life even as a child. I recall 11-year-old me buying a J-14 magazine every time a new one came out and being drawn to all the gossip about my favorite artists and tv-shows. Nowadays I am not as involved with the tabloids, but rather like to watch tv-shows, movies,  interviews, and podcasts. As well, I have always been an artsy person and love anything creative.
